Koperasi Usahawan Graduan Perak Berhad (COGRAD) was officially established on May 5, 2021, under the Cooperative Societies Act of 1993, and registered with the Co-operative Commission of Malaysia (CCM). The organization was founded with the goal of bringing together graduate entrepreneurs in Perak to create sustainable businesses and improve the socioeconomic standing of its members. By focusing on community-driven ventures, COGRAD enables local entrepreneurs to expand their networks and scale their businesses both domestically and internationally.

One of COGRAD’s earliest and most significant achievements was forming a partnership with Nestlé Malaysia. Through this collaboration, COGRAD was appointed as the main distributor of Robusta Coffee Trees, receiving seeds that had undergone rigorous R&D and quality control. We are responsible for nurturing these seeds until they mature, before selling them or using them in coffee plantations. This partnership underscores COGRAD’s expertise in agriculture, particularly in coffee cultivation, with tree grafting techniques incorporating eight(8) coffee clones of Ivory Coast pedigree.

COGRAD operates several nurseries across Perak, with the main site located in Kuala Kangsar, capable of housing over 35,000 coffee trees. Our agricultural efforts aim to supply the local coffee industry and empower smallholder farmers through buyback plans for coffee cherries and green beans.

Looking forward, COGRAD has ambitious plans to enhance further the coffee ecosystem in Malaysia, including the development of a coffee post-harvest factory, which will help boost the economy of Perak. Additionally, the cooperative is actively involved in entrepreneurial expos such as the National Cooperative Day Expo and the Perak Entrepreneur Expo, where our members showcase their products, expanding their market reach and solidifying their presence in the industry.

Through the strong support of CCM, ANGKASA, and other cooperative networks, COGRAD continues to serve as a cornerstone for graduate entrepreneurs in Perak, enabling them to thrive and contribute meaningfully to the local and national economy.
